Gail Ingis-Claus, ASID
Designer/Artist
A native of Brooklyn, New York, she had an early love of drawing and music and would
spend whatever time she had creating and studying both. Throughout those years,
she earned a degree in interior design and continued her studies in architecture
and design criticism. Ultimately, she studied her art with many prominent artists.
She is internationally recognized and is a popular award-winning designer & artist.
An accomplished artist/illustrator, Gail has been involved in design, architecture,
teaching, and art for more than 35 years. Her career has spanned all aspects of
design and art with an emphasis in interior design. She is accomplished as an ASID
(American Society of Interior Designers) certified and registered interior designer,
home stager, professor of history of architecture & design, photographer, artist
juror, writer, design critic, realtor®, and the founder of the nationally accredited
Interior Design Institute. Besides teaching at her school, she has also taught at
the New York School of Interior Design, Kean College in Union, New Jersey, the former
King’s College, Briarcliff Manor, Tarrytown, New York and in Connecticut at the
University of New Haven, University of Bridgeport and Fairfield University.
As an interior designer with architectural training, Gail incorporates her drawing
skills and painting into her art and illustrative work. Her sought-after award-winning
work is represented in private collections, galleries, museums and corporations
in the states and abroad.
